Year 5/6 Primary School Teacher 鈥� St Joseph鈥檚, Collingwood
St Joseph鈥檚 School is an integral part of the faith community of Collingwood and is the sole parish primary school.聽St Joseph鈥檚 School聽is governed under the authority of Melbourne 蜜桃视频 Catholic Schools Limited (蜜桃视频) ABN 18643442371. 蜜桃视频 is the employer of employees at St Joseph鈥檚 School.
We are currently seeking an experienced Year 5/6 Teacher for TERM 3 ONLY.
Dates of employment will be from Monday 13th July 2026 until Friday 18th September 2026.
Candidates must have an ability to plan, work and learn in a team environment. They must also have excellent classroom management skills, be familiar with Trauma-informed practice (e.g.: Berry Street) and have a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogies.
Job description:
- Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in a classroom environment聽
- Maintain deep knowledge of curriculum content and how to teach it聽
- Create and maintain a supportive and safe learning environment聽
- Develop programs and assess student learning聽
- Reliably report on student learning to families
- Liaise with families and colleagues regarding student learning聽
- Engage in professional learning
- Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community聽
- Engage in various extra-curricular activities
Skills/Experience required:
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
- A strong commitment to Catholic education.
- An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- An ability to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters for the needs of all students.
- An eagerness to learn.
- An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use technology to support student learning.
Special Requirements:
- St Joseph鈥檚 School promotes the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children; therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
- The successful applicant will hold the Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.
- Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred.
