Role Description/Criteria
St Mary's School, Geelong has a rich history in providing a quality education that equips students with the necessary knowledge, skills, attributes and behaviours that they will use throughout their lifetime.
We are seeking a passionate, highly skilled educator to work on a Thursday and Friday, with the potential of additional hours on a Wednesday to attend planning, who will embrace the school's vision for evidence-informed practices toÌýjoin our dedicated staff team. This classroom teaching position is part-time and fixed-term, commencing on Thursday JulyÌý16th, 2026 and concluding on Tuesday 26th January, 2027.

This fixed-term position is for 2026.
The successful applicants will have;
- a strong commitment to Catholic education and the ethos of Catholic schools
- the appropriate qualifications, skills and abilities necessary to provide students with rich and rewarding educational experiences, catering for individual needs in an inclusive, open learning environment
- experience or interest in evidence-informed learning and teaching with the ability to deliver the learning content with passion
- the ability to work and plan collaboratively as part of a team, sharing the responsibility for improving student outcomes
- efficient and effective classroom behaviour management strategies
- strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive partnerships with staff, students and their families
- a commitment to adopting the school's vision for evidence-informed practices, inclusive of the Science of Reading, designing a knowledge-based curriculum and an Explicit Instruction pedagogical approach, and a willingness to undertake ongoing professional development in these areas.

Special Requirements
- accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School would be an advantage
- current, Teacher Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- completion and submission of the 'Application For Employment' document
