Parade College is the oldest Edmund Rice School in Australia, dating back to 1871, and has a proud history of excellence in the education and pastoral care. The College is pleased to announce, our VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) program at Parade College became co-educational in 2025. The College welcomes full-time female student enrolments for the first time in our long history, into Year 11 in 2025.Ìý Starting in Term 1 2025,Ìýour VCE Vocational Major program, based at our Preston campus, has expanded our student offerings by introducing a new Tertiary Pathways Program. The Tertiary Pathways Program includes a second stream of our highly successful Sport Academy, along with a new Business Academy.ÌýBoth academies provide a bespoke educational opportunity that allow students to gain direct entry into a number of undergraduate tertiary courses at La Trobe University upon completion of the two-year course.Ìý

The Position

Applications are invited for the position of Dean of Learning (Yrs 7-9) from suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovative leaders with excellent organisational skills and a passion for Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition and the safety, protection and wellbeing of children.

The Dean of Learning (Years 7–9) is a member of the Teaching and Learning Executive and has delegated responsibility for the leadership, coordination and quality assurance of all curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices across Years 7–9. The role leads the implementation of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, including the general capabilities, and ensures consistent application of the College’s Instructional Model to improve student learning outcomes.

The Dean acts as the primary point of escalation for Teaching and Learning matters in Years 7–9, including curriculum, classroom practice and parent concerns, and works collaboratively with the Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning, Dean of Learning (10–12), and key leaders to ensure a coherent whole-school approach.

The successful candidate for this position will commence 27 January 2027.Ìý The leadership appointment is for a three year term, with an ongoing teaching position associated with this appointment.Ìý This position attracts a Position of Leadership Allowance 4 and a generous time allowance per cycle.
