St Matthew鈥檚 Primary School is situated in Fawkner North. It is a culturally enriched and well resourced primary school in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The school has an excellent reputation as a warm and welcoming community, providing a quality education within a Catholic setting.听
About the Role
The applicant must have the ability to create an engaging learning environment that is challenging and innovative using evidence based practices. They must be able to use data to drive the learning in order to support students' diverse needs and ensure improved outcomes for all. The right person must also have a passion for life-long learning and possess a genuine love of children and a commitment to child safety.听

The position
Classroom Teacher: Full-time position, fixed term (for remainder of 2026 school year)
Year level: 5
Commencement Date:听4th May, 2026 (earlier if possible)

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- work collaboratively within a team听
- monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas
- implement evidence based practices to achieve targets related to student learning听听
outcomes in line with the听Vision for Instruction
- implement effective student management consistent with the听Vision for听

听Essential Knowledge and Experience
- VIT registration
- Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School is an advantage.
- Exemplary teaching practice with proven classroom management practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of current educational needs and achievement standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including team building and mentoring skills.
