Visual Arts Teacher (0.4 FTE)

St Padre Pio Catholic Primary School is seeking a creative and passionate Visual Arts Teacher (0.4 FTE) to join our vibrant school community. Starting date for the role will be the 27/1/2026 (or as early as possible for the new school year).
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can inspire students to explore and express themselves through the Visual Arts. The successful applicant will deliver engaging and inclusive art programs that nurture creativity, build skills, and celebrate student achievement, while supporting the Catholic ethos and values of our school. Our visual arts specialist program will run across Tuesday and Wednesday in our foundation year. There will be a brand new fit for purpose Visual Arts classroom space ready for 2026.
The role also has the potential for an applicant to extend the FTE from 0.4 (2 days) to 0.6 (3 days) or 0.8 (4 days). The extra time will fill a flexible classroom support role (intervention, classroom support, ongoing CRT work).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Visual Arts lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Foster creativity, self-expression, and appreciation of the arts in students.
- Organise and display student artwork to celebrate learning across the school.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
- Contribute positively to the life of our school community.
Requirements
- Current VIT registration.
- Qualifications and/or experience in teaching Visual Arts.
- Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum.
- Effective communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
