Role Description/Criteria
This position is FTE 0.6 with potential full time available in consultation with the Principal.
°Õ³ó±ðÌýTechnology Specialist Teacher will lead the delivery of the Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies components of the Victorian Curriculum from Prep to Year Six. This role will engage students in creative, purposeful, and authentic learning experiences that develop their understanding of computational thinking, design processes, and digital systems within a STEM-based framework.
The teacher will use explicit instruction, guided inquiry, and differentiation to ensure that all learners can access, engage, and succeed. A strong understanding of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Vision for Instruction will underpin all planning, teaching, and assessment practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum: Digital Technologies ²¹²Ô»åÌýDesign and Technologies.
- ±õ²Ô³Ù±ð²µ°ù²¹³Ù±ðÌýSTEM principles that encourage problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.
- ±«²õ±ðÌýexplicit teaching approaches that are evidence-based and aligned with the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Vision for Instruction, including modelling, guided practice, and independent application.Ìý
- Differentiate teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students across all year levels (Prep – Year 6).
- Promote responsible and ethical use of digital technologies, developing students’ digital literacy, safety, and citizenship.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to embed digital and design technologies across the curriculum.Ìý
- Use formative and summative assessment to track and report on student progress.Ìý
- Maintain and manage specialist learning environments and digital resources (e.g., robotics, coding tools, 3D printers, microcontrollers, etc.).Ìý
- Support the school’s commitment to STEM and future-focused learning, including participation in whole-school initiatives and events.Ìý
- Contribute actively to the professional learning culture of the school, reflecting on practice and engaging in continuous improvement.
- Foster respectful and positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families that reflect the Catholic ethos and values of St Peter Apostle Primary School.Ìý
- In partnership with the Wellbeing Leader work to ensure eSafety is an explicit focus at the school.Ìý
