OLSH College Bentleigh is an independent Catholic secondary school for girls with a commitment to the mission of Catholic education. Applications are invited for the following part-time, ongoing position of:
Textiles TechnicianÌý
The Textiles Technician is primarily responsible for assisting the Textiles Teacher in the classroom. They are responsible for the maintenance, preparation and general duties in the Textiles area. Together, they work to provide a high level of service within the environment of the Technology Faculty.
You will be required to work every Wednesday (during term time only) from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
Applicants must have experience with textiles and sewing and must be confident using Janome sewing machines and overlockers.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Experience working with a range of textiles equipment and materials
- Ability to support students in a practical classroom environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and well-organised workspace
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing materials and equipment for classes
- Maintaining and servicing sewing machines and equipment
- Assisting students and staff during practical lessons
- Managing stock, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
The successful applicant will have the right to work in Australia and hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
