Role Description/Criteria
Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School, Eltham, is seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our vibrant learning community.
This position will commence at the beginning of Term 2, 2026. The role is a fixed term contract position with the possibility of ongoing employment.
The position will be structured as follows
• 0.6 FTE during Term 2, 2026
• 0.4 FTE during Terms 3 and 4, 2026
The successful applicant will teach within a Year 1/2 classroom and work collaboratively with colleagues to support high quality teaching and learning. Experience in the teaching of reading through a structured, systematic synthetic phonics approach would be highly regarded.

• A strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and evidence based teaching practices
• The ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments that support the needs of all students
• Effective classroom management and positive behaviour support practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families
• A commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice
• The capacity to work collaboratively within a team to improve student learning outcomes
Special Requirements
Applicants should
• Hold current VIT registration
• Have accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or a willingness to obtain this
• Demonstrate a commitment to child safety and to the wellbeing of all students
