St Joseph's is a Catholic Edmund Rice Education Australia Boys' Secondary College, with an enrolment over 1800 students. The College is seeking a suitably experienced Occupational Therapist to support students with additional needs as identified by the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) to participate fully in college life. The duties include assessing and addressing challenges related to attention, emotional and sensory regulation, handwriting, movement, organisation and daily living skills. The role involves direct intervention with students, consultation and training staff, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Duties also include psychosocial assessments, behavioural support plans, safety plans, risk assessments and the development of personal learning plans.
The Occupational Therapist contributes to or develops Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and provides recommendations for adaptive equipment and adjustments based on assessment data. The Occupational Therapist works in consultation with school leaders to implement and deliver effective professional support within the College community to support the emotional, social, and learning development needs of our students.
