Role Description/Criteria

About the role

We are seeking an experienced safety, risk and compliance practitioner to support a culture where risk is understood, safety is prioritised, and compliance is seamlessly embedded into everyday practice.

As a trusted advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the College meets its legislative, regulatory, and policy obligations by providing timely advice and practical support to enable informed and transparent decision making. In this role, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety, risk and compliance processes ensuring they are embedded and aligned with the College’s strategic priorities.

To be successful, you will have experience with coordinating a range of audits, investigations, and assessments ensuring processes are well documented, thorough and aligned with best practice. You will also ensure that reporting systems and practices are robust and shared in a timely manner with all stakeholders.

We are seeking a professional with a strong understanding of safety, risk, and compliance, coupled with the ability to influence others using a person centred and solutions focused approach. Your leadership will ensure that systems and proactive practices will protect students and staff and drive a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of safety, risk, and compliance.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity commencing in June 2026.

Our ideal Candidate will have

  • demonstrated experience in safety, risk, and/or compliance management
  • strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks (ideally within education or a similar sector)
  • exceptional organisational, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • a proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • ability to engage, educate, and influence others to take ownership of safety, risk and compliance
  • a demonstrated ability to foster a welcoming and safe learning environment
  • a commitment to working in a Catholic Education environment.
