The Position
Loreto Toorak is seeking a passionate and dedicated Library Technician to join our vibrant Mandeville Learning Centre (Library) team. This role is offered as a full time, ongoing position commencing Term 1 2026. Hours of work will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday term time only.Â
The Library Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting a vibrant library service of the two Loreto Toorak libraries – the Mandeville Centre Library (Years 7 to 12) and the Rathfarnham Library (Preparatory to Year 6) by ensuring that resources and services meet the learning and teaching needs of students, staff, and the wider school community. In addition, the Library Technician will perform a range of supervisory responsibilities of students, student volunteers and Mandeville Mentors as rostered throughout the term weeks.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise and a passion for fostering a love of reading and learning. Key requirements include;
- Certificate III in Library and Information Services or equivalent qualification
- Eligibility for ALIA membership
- Proven experience in cataloguing and working with library management systems
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
- A collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative and creativity
- Genuine enthusiasm for children’s and young adult literature
